Another one of the ‘Pirates’ from the Entre de Mers Region, Jean-Baptiste Duquesne rom Château Cazebonne believes in minimal interference with the grapes to make the best wine using organic methods and challenging the old ways of Bordeaux. This wine received a score of 92/100 in the Guide to the Best Wines in France.

Soif de 1900 bring you on a journey through time, made with grapes common before World War 1, that have mostly been forgotten. This is an example of what Bordeaux could have tasted at the time the grand crus were classified. This wine is aged in amphorae first, then barriques.
Tasting: Fresh red fruit, but in a dark and dense way. Lovely gritty tannins coat the tongue. Sour cherry and tantalisingly tart finish.
Pairing: Simmered dishes, dishes based on grilled or roasted vegetables, risotto, and even an Irish Stew.
