Julilenas Chaintré Pouilly Fuissé Premier Cru Les Chevrieres
Very simply, it’s because we love it. Normally, both of us would naturally lean towards being red drinkers, but this wine is the exception. Many might see that this is a chardonnay and wipe it off as one of those heavily oaked chardonnays from the 1980s, but you couldn’t get further from that with this wine. It’s elegant, aromatic and can be aged up to 10 years, but it would never last that long on our wine racks.
This wine is a Premier Cru as the land the grapes grow on are some of the best in the area. The vines face south-west and have the perfect position for the sun.
Tasting: Elegant floral notes, with toast, vanilla and some minerals.
Pairings: With poultry or fish.
