Domaine Cordaillat
Founded in the mid-1990s, Domaine Cordaillat encompasses vineyards spread across four of the six municipalities within the Reuilly Appellation area. A significant development occurred in 2017 when Pascal Dethune took the helm, steering the estate with a renewed focus on the historic terroir of Reuilly, highlighted by vines planted in the 1930s. Today, Domaine Cordaillat’s production includes approximately 55% Reuilly AOC Blanc (Sauvignon), 25% Reuilly AOC Rouge (Pinot Noir), and 20% Reuilly AOC Rosé (Pinot Gris), reflecting a harmonious blend of grape varieties, terroir, and skilled craftsmanship.

The Vineyard
Domaine Cordaillat spans approximately 14 hectares of exceptional terroir in the heart of Berry, along the Arnon River in the Cher and Indre departments. The vineyards benefit from diverse soil compositions, including clay-limestone and clay-sandy, which under various exposures provide optimal conditions for grape maturation.
The estate boasts several notable localities, each contributing unique characteristics to their wines. These include Les Sables in Chéry, home to the eponymous cuvée; Laleuf in Reuilly, the origin of their Dagobert cuvée; and Conges, also in Reuilly. Other significant sites are L’Hopiteau in the hamlet of La Ferté, Les Galifardes and Les Plants in Diou, and Les Plantes d’en Bas in Lury-sur-Arnon. The wine cellar, located in Le Bois Saint Denis, serves as the heart of their operations.
These complementary terroirs enable Domaine Cordaillat to achieve the finest expressions of Reuilly wines, with each vineyard plot contributing distinct and exceptional qualities to their production.
Farming Practices
At Domaine Cordaillat, viticulture is a top priority, with practices tailored to the unique characteristics of each vineyard area. Guided by experience and a continuous quest for knowledge, the estate makes informed decisions backed by regular investments in their operations. They prohibit the use of insecticides and anti-botrytis treatments, focusing instead on sustainable practices such as soil grassing and meticulous soil management. The commitment to quality extends into the winemaking process, conducted in their state-of-the-art cellar in Reuilly. Regularly updated with the latest technology, the cellar ensures the preservation and consistency of their wines, reflecting the estate’s dedication to producing exceptional and environmentally responsible wines.
