The Vineyards
The vineyards of Juliénas Chaintré embody a tapestry of terroirs that reflect the rich winemaking traditions of Burgundy and Beaujolais. Located in the heart of Beaujolais, these vineyards benefit from a diverse range of soils, including granite and schist, which impart distinct characteristics to the grapes. This region’s alliance with Burgundy enhances its viticultural heritage, offering a broad spectrum of wines that harmonize with the nuances of each terroir. The cultivation of Chardonnay in the Mâconnais region to the south underscores Juliénas Chaintré’s commitment to excellence, producing white wines celebrated for their finesse and expressive fruit notes. Meanwhile, within the Beaujolais appellation, including the prestigious crus and regional appellations, Gamay Noir thrives in clay-limestone soils under a temperate climate, yielding wines that range from youthful and fresh to robust and age-worthy. Together, these vineyards exemplify the synergy of skills and values shared across Burgundy and Beaujolais, crafting wines that embody the essence of their terroirs with every bottle.
